Here are four tips to help you manage your outsourced projects successfully

Outsourcing business processes is not a new concept in the business world. This trend has been growing in popularity over the past few decades. This is a popular trend for many reasons. Outsourcing can improve efficiency and save money. Outsourcing allows businesses to focus on their core competencies. It also allows access to highly skilled resources, such as engineers and scientists.
Even if projects are outsourced, they still require to be managed. You must know the current status of the project, the amount of money spent, dead ends, and be able quickly and efficiently to resolve any problems. These are our tips for managing outsourced projects.
Project Planning
Before you can outsource your project, you will need to plan it in detail. Remote teams will manage it so you won’t need to fix any problems on the spot as with in-house projects.
You will need to divide projects into tasks, create descriptions for each task, and explain what information and resources are needed for each task. You will need time estimates from the team.
Access to Important Documentation
This will make it easier for your team or outsourced workers access to all documentation. This will allow them to work more efficiently. This will allow you to save time and avoid having to answer any project-related questions. If they have all the resources and information, it is easier for the team to work efficiently and complete the tasks quickly.
Any software that uses cloud computing technology can be used to achieve this. Google Drive, OneDrive, and Project Management software tools all are available. Many of these tools offer the ability to track changes. This is important as it prevents valuable information being lost after editing or updating.
Reliable Partners for Outsourcing

Many outsourcing companies specialize in business process outsourcing. These companies can manage client projects and work from the client’s point of view. These companies can offer an outsourcing service for their clients using the latest technologies and employing only the best freelancers and professionals.
Outsourcing to a trusted partner will allow your organization to focus on its core areas. This will enable you to focus on your core areas and not have to supervise remote employees. Before you choose a partner, make sure to check out testimonials from past clients.
Make a communication plan
Communication is essential for any project management task. Working with remote talent and teams can be a challenge. Communication is key. Before you can start working on a project with remote talent and teams, you must establish a communication plan.
Here are some things you should consider before you start a project.
Establish a communication channel if the project is stopped due to a critical issue.
There are many forms of communication. You need to decide which communication channel you should use for each type.
Define the frequency of communication (i.e. Define the frequency for communication, i.e. Define the frequency of communication, i.e. when and how often they will send reports to you.
There will be many questions throughout the project. Clear and effective communication strategies can help reduce redundancies and increase productivity.
These tips will make managing outsourcing projects much easier. Any outsourced project will be possible with little management if you have a solid plan and a well-crafted communication strategy.

4 Strategies to Deal With Information Explosion

Just when you thought Monday morning couldn’t get any busier than Monday morning, you’re overwhelmed with unread emails and pings from Slack. It’s only 9 o’clock in the morning!
Get started with information exploration
Information overload is a problem that affects many workplaces. A survey found that 36% of 300 top-ranking executives from major organisations in 16 countries felt that their organizations were struggling to cope with the information overload.
The culprit is the advancement of ICT and the proliferation of information sources. These multiple sources made it easier for you to find information faster, but also meant that your team was flooded with information.
Multiple dimensions of information can also lead to information overload. Emails and newspapers will not disappear. Podcasts and wiki pages are growing constantly. Just by looking at them, it is enough to cause headaches.
It can be even more difficult to find the right information due to the volume and variety of information available. Everything related to a project, Ai, is sent to you by the project manager. This includes stakeholder requests and status updates. Even the most basic information is shared with your team. This makes it unnecessarily difficult to find the right information.
Unfortunately, trying to process a vast amount ofinformation with limited cognitive information-processing capacity andinadequate time only puts you and your team in the epicenter of an informationexplosion!
Information Explosion: The Fallout
This information explosion can cause problems in your team and your projects.
It is possible for your team to lose its ability to collaborate. Because there is so much information, it can be difficult for your team to decide which task is most urgent or which statusupdate is relevant. It is possible to create tension in your team, which can lead to lower productivity.
A lack of cognitive skills is another consequence. Research has shown that information overload can lead to Attention Deficit Trait (ADT), which is a neurological phenomenon. Managers can experience ADT when they have difficulty prioritizing projects, managing their time efficiently and making smart business decisions.
This could lead to substandard quality project management.
Strategies to Deal With Information Explosion
You and your team must control information explosion to ensure safety and productivity, as well as the quality of your project. These are four strategies that can be used to deal with information explosion and how to incorporate them in your daily operations.
1. Filtering Strategy
This strategy involves sorting through information and eliminating low-quality or irrelevant information. To move emails efficiently into the correct folders, use email inbox rules. Only activate alerts for the most critical messages.
Modern project management software such as Jira integrates filtering strategies into its workflows. Jira’s ability to create adaptive workflows allows you to rely on triggers that automatically transition tasks. Handoffs will be easier and you’ll be able to get rid of unnecessary notifications and hurdles.
2. Withdrawing Strategy
This is the easiest strategy that you can use. This allows you to limit how much information you consume each day. This is to prevent you from becoming overwhelmed by an information overload. It might be time to unsubscribe from the irrelevant email thread. What about the Slack channel. It’s best to just silence it.
Another advantage?

Four Reasons You Need a Project Management Software

Do you feel like your time, money, and energy are being wasted on repetitive tasks and manual data collection? You can save time and money by using project management software. It will help you organize your collaboration, project, and workload management and keep your processes in order. Leaders and project managers invest a lot of energy and resources in encouraging their team members, with their minds focused on the same goal: to deliver the best product possible. Building a culture of trust and cooperation is more than creating a product that meets expectations. It’s about communication, organization, and efficiency that create true value. They are essential to a successful project’s completion. Bad communication leads to poor task delegation. Bad task delegation slows down processes. The more complex the process, the more money you will need. Even if you consider all possible scenarios and take the time to plan each step of your project strategy carefully, you cannot predict what could go wrong during development. You can streamline your processes and keep your team informed by inviting them to one central platform. This will allow them to see all of their activities and communicate with each other. This will help them to manage their work and simplify their lives. These are the key benefits of project management that will change your mind if you’re still hesitant about investing in it. It unites all information in one central hub
Your team quickly becomes overwhelmed by the amount of work they have to do and the number files and documents they must share with the rest. Teams will often use multiple tools to speed up their processes and reduce potential problems. They end up switching between tools and quickly reach a dead end. Your team can share files easily with one central hub and all information is visible to everyone who is part of a project. This allows your team to keep their thoughts flowing and allow them to focus on the important work. It makes communication easy and straightforward.
Lagging is one of the main reasons for a halt in communication flow. Emailing is still the most popular method of communication, but it is slow and inefficient. ActiveCollab eliminates the need for your team to constantly check their email. They can now comment directly on the task and provide feedback. If necessary, they can also have discussions. It simplifies communication and keeps it safe in one place. It fosters transparency within the team
Transparency is key to team collaboration. It’s difficult for team members to keep track if the activities and processes aren’t visible. Transparency will allow everyone involved in the project to see the roles and responsibilities of others. This will help them to organize their tasks more efficiently and determine their next steps. It should also give senior staff a better understanding of who is doing what at what time. It can save money over the long-term.
Finally, using one platform to organize your tasks, collaborate and track every stage of the projects saves you not only time but also money. You can save time and money by investing in project management software.

Four Reasons Agile Development could Benefit Every Company

Traditional methods of project management don’t always work. They are not always able to deliver the right result at the right price and within the right timeframe. Many businesses are turning to agile project management to bring about change. Agile development allows project teams focus on short, intense phases (called iterations) and then focus on key tasks (collectively known as user stories). Agile development is a way for project teams to spend less time on design upfront and more time developing user needs. This is a departure form traditional methods of development. Learn more about agile development to transform your business.
Project development takes less time and costs.
Traditional projects are known for being expensive and require a lot of work upfront. This investment allows for a detailed design which can be used by project team. It can be difficult to get the design right early in a project. It is better to spend your time exploring alternative ideas rather than working on the design. Agile project management techniques reduce upfront costs, and allow you to focus your budget on development time. This can help reduce delivery time and costs by not wasting time on things customers don’t use.
Customer satisfaction rises
Customers and users know exactly their needs. These needs must be identified by the project team. Agile development puts the user at the heart of every decision. The product owner, also known as the lead customer, reviews each phase and gives feedback. This allows both the customer and the project team to quickly respond and ensures that final product meets user expectations. This speeds up the process and improves customer satisfaction with the final product.
Manage business risks more closely
Every project is different. These risks can have an impact on the delivery time, cost, and product quality. Agile development methods can help manage these risks more effectively. Iterative development allows for greater control over budget and time because work is done in short, clearly defined iterations. Throughout the entire development process, the product owner is involved in the design. This allows the team and product owner to work together to overcome any obstacles. Agile development does not make delivery easier, but it does make it easier to manage the delivery.
More efficient use
Traditional project teams can be wasteful. When you only have one or two experts, it is common to have multiple people working on a project. Agile development avoids this problem by focusing only on a few user stories. This makes it easier to plan for people and time. Every day, everyone in the team can review the task and it helps to clarify who is responsible for each activity.
Agile development has brought about significant savings for many businesses. These companies have been able to complete large, complex projects quickly and it is easy for them to see how agile technology can work for them.

Four Qualities Managers Must Have to Increase Productivity in Their Employees

Many companies face the problem of poor sales and low productivity. Poor management is the main reason behind low productivity and poor sales. Managers are the most important employees in an organization. Managers play a vital role in motivating, supporting, and motivating employees to be their best selves. Managers can improve productivity and efficiency in many ways, while also creating a positive working environment. We’ll discuss five ways managers can increase productivity and create a positive image for the organization.
Be the best version you can be
Managers love learning from successful role models. They can lose their originality and start to diminish their authenticity. Learning from successful managers can be a positive thing as long as you don’t lose your personal identity. Overcompensating for work styles that are based on different leadership qualities could be detrimental to your job as manager. You must inspire confidence, conviction, and good morals in your employees to keep them motivated and engaged. Once you know how to learn from others, it will be easier to learn from them.
Transparency, trust
As you may have heard, trust is the foundation of all relationships. Managers are responsible for managing their teams and representing them to the top brass. Unfortunately, the majority of managers that we surveyedstated that trust was a major problem in their organization and its absencecreated several management obstacles that proved detrimental to the company’sproductivity. It was crucial to foster a transparent and honest culture that encourages employees’ best work performance. Transparency and good communication are essential for being a better manager.
Recognize employees
Giving credit and acknowledging your employees is one of the most neglected practices. Unfortunately, itis also one of the most effective ones to increase productivity in your team. This involves being attentive to other efforts, establishing a good line forcommunication, and conveying their output positively to the higher management.Organizations that sideline this imperative suffer from productivity shortfallsand set a bad precedence in the market. Positive atmosphere can directly impact company productivity by acknowledging employees’ good work and giving credit. It’s amazing how a simple compliment like “Good Job” can boost the motivation levels of your employees.
Be a risk-taker
Organizations often criticize those who take risks because they are difficult to find. It is a rare quality that can have both good and bad sides. It can help an organization grow or cause a costly disaster. This art can help you take calculated risks that will produce desired outcomes, and keep your workforce motivated and engaged when the decision is being made. The idea was heavily criticised by Walmart during its move into AI Sales prediction. Thanks to AI sales prediction, Walmart saw a 10%- 15% increase in sales of $1 billion. Managers are often afraid to take risks and miss opportunities to increase productivity. This is because they are often subjected to harsh criticisms in today’s corporate culture. Those who ignore negative comments and trust their gut instincts to achieve great feats will prevail.

Lync Factor: It’s Just an Upgrade

Editor’s Note: Chris Ward, a Microsoft Lync Server certified trainer, recently received it. This is the 10th post in a series where he will share his experiences and offer advice.
Some people feel it’s more difficult to start a new project from scratch. I always respond, “It depends where you are coming from!” With computers, networks, cloud environments, and, of course, communication applications/services, we are both blessed and cursed with existing environments that must be dealt with. We are either upgrading or installing Lync Server 2013 in an existing environment.
What does this mean if I want to move to Lync 2013 but have an OCS or Lync instance running?
Let me simplify it for you. Lync Server 2013 will only migrate to Office Communications Server 2007 R2 or Lync Server 2010. It won’t work if you have a mix of both. You must also migrate Group Chat if it is installed. Microsoft supports only side-by-side migration.

Start training This method requires additional server platforms. You can move operations back to the older servers if it becomes necessary to rollback to the previous version. – Microsoft Technet
What does this all mean? You will create a new instance of Lync Server 2013. It is great to have a pilot group that you can move over, but not mission critical. Periodic users who have used OCS and Lync previously are a great group to use. For your Lync 2013 deployment, you will need to use separate SQL 2008 R2 and SQL 2012 servers. You cannot have the same SQL Server running a 2013 Front End Pool and also run Lync 2010/OCS 2007 R2 Front End Pools.
The upgrade is not as difficult as the Cybermen of Dr. Who. If you plan ahead, it can be quite painless. CompuDev Solutions’ Ken Snyder has done many of these migrations in large and medium-sized organizations. I was given his advice to plan, plan more, and then plan another time for good measure. Microsoft’s recommended migration flow is what I will leave you with, which is quite accurate:
Plan your migration
Install the Lync Server 2013 pilot pool
Transfer some users to the pilot pool
Add Lync Server 2013 Edge Server as a pilot pool
From pilot deployment to production
Complete all post-migration tasks, and decommission legacy pool
These topics will be covered in my SPOTO 70-336 and 70-337 (coming) courses. Technet is a magical fairy dust you can use. Make sure to double-check commands and test them in a pilot environment. Sometimes, there are “legacy” commands that are copied and pasted from OCS 2007 to Lync 2010, and even now to Lync 2013! This would be a terrible surprise in a production environment!
My friends, Lync on!

LPIC 1 vs Linux+ – Where to Start

There are many key Linux certifications available to help you if you’re ready for specialization. Some exams are specific to particular distributions, Red Hat being the most prominent. However, there are two certifications that are vendor-neutral and entry-level: CompTIA Linux+, and Linux Professional Institute (LPI), LPIC-1.
CompTIA and LPI had a partnership which, until April 2019, guaranteed LPIC-1 certification for anyone who passed CompTIA’s Linux+ exam. The reasoning of CompTIA and the LPI diverge on some details of their dissolution, but that’s not the whole point.
Here’s the important thing: Which certification should you pursue. Are you a Linux+ or LPIC-1 candidate?
A Look at Linux+ – A Breakdown
CompTIA’s new Linux+ certification exam targets IT professionals who use or plan to use Linux to manage everything, from cars and smartphones to servers to supercomputers. Candidates who work in Linux-based enterprise environments will also benefit from this certification. The main difference from the previous Linux+ exam was that it covers security in-depth. It also covers topics like cloud management, kernel modules, and DevOps.
Learn how to become a security expert with SPOTO’s Cybersecurity Training
Linux+ training is a great way to start training if you are in the beginning stages of your system administrator career and want to build a solid foundation for working in Linux environments. Linux+ is distro-neutral, meaning it can be used on any Linux system. This will make it a valuable asset for a wider range of organizations.
CompTIA is a well-known brand in the IT certification market. CompTIA certifications add a lot of weight to a professional’s resume, especially in the United States where vendor-neutral certifications can be easily recognized. Linux+ is a great option for IT professionals based in the United States, especially those who are interested in working at organizations like the Department of Defense. CompTIA certifications can be obtained from the Department of Defense.
Linux+ certification is a great option for professionals looking to further their CompTIA certification path. This includes cybersecurity certs such as CySA+ or CASP+.
Linux+ has its downsides. It is generally considered to be one of the easiest IT certification exams. However, many professionals feel that it doesn’t carry the same weight or prestige as other certifications. Others argue that these flaws lead to an exam that does not indicate whether a professional can handle the task of Linux administration.
A Look at LPIC-1: The Brokendown
The LPIC-1 certification is the first in the multi-level Linux Professional Institute certification program. The LPIC-1 certifies that the candidate can perform basic networking tasks, as well as install and configure Linux computers.
The LPIC-1 certification requires two exams. It is generally considered more difficult than the CompTIA exam because it casts a wider net with more detailed questions.
The LPIC-1 was published in 1999. It is the oldest vendor-neutral Linux certification. The LPI is an independent non-profit organization that promotes Linux’s open-source philosophy. This organization is a non-profit organization with 175,000 certificate holders in over 180 countries. It has unmatched global influence. This makes the LPIC one the most widely recognized certifications for Linux professionals worldwide, especially in the IT community.
LPIC-1 is also distrib-neutral, making it ideal for IT professionals who are interested in pursuing positions like system administrator, network administrator, or system engineer. This alignment makes LPIC-1 certification even more appealing because it embodies open-source software’s community-driven nature.
Linux+ vs LPIC1 – Which Should You Earn?
First, we recommend the LPIC-1 in a vacuum. LPI’s position is a glo

Linux Hard Links versus Soft Links Explained

Understanding the terminology is one of the most important aspects of learning a new technology. Linux is no exception. The OS is full of terms and phrases. Learning to use it can be difficult because some words are borrowed from other systems. Others only apply to Linux. Linux and Unix-like OSs have hard links and soft links. Understanding them can help you navigate through the filesystems of Linux. Our Linux training module covers soft links, hard links, as well as other topics.
What are Soft Links?
Quick definition: A soft link (also known as a symbolic or a symbolic file in Linux) is a special type of file that points to a different file. It could be thought of as a shortcut in Windows vocabulary. Soft links can point to entire directories and link to files on remote computers because the connection is logical. This is impossible with hard links.
What are hard links?
Quick definition: A hard link in Linux is the equivalent of a file stored on the hard drive. It actually refers to or points to a specific spot on the hard drive. A hard link is a mirror of the original file. A hard link is different from a soft one in that it doesn’t delete the original file, but renders a soft hyperlink inoperable.
An Overview of Hard and Soft Links [VIDEO]
Shawn Powers explains the difference between soft (or symbolic), links on a Linux OS 10 operating platform in this video. These are two ways files can be referenced on a hard disk. The former points to the file and the latter to the name of the file.

What are the differences between hard and soft links?
Linux and OS10 use terms such as hard links and soft links. Although both soft and hard links point at files, there is a key difference. It all comes down to what they refer to: hard links refer directly to the data, while soft links refer to the path to that data.
To understand the difference between a Hard Link and a Soft Link, we need to zoom in as deep as possible on a hard drive. In Linux systems, the data structure responsible for storing information is called an Inode. A hard link is a file that is its own. It refers to or points to the exact location on the hard drive where the Inode stores data. Soft links are not separate files. They point to the name of the original file and not to a specific spot on the hard disk.
How do hard links work?
Imagine a hard drive at the Inode level. This will allow you to visualize the data that each file represents. If you think hard enough, you will be able to see how much space it takes up on your hard drive. Now, imagine a file (let’s call it File 1) that points to the exact location on the hard disk where the data is stored. You can access the data by opening File 1. You can also make changes to the data on your hard drive.
Now, imagine that you create a hardlink to File 1. It’s a hard-link, so it’s a new file. We’ll call it File 2. However, File 2 will contain the same data as File 1. It’s a hardlink, so it points to the exact same place on the hard drive.
A hard link effectively gives you two separate files that behave as if they were different files. It’s better to not think of a hard-link as a copy. There’s an exception to this rule: File 1 will be modified, but File 2 will be automatically edited. This is because they are two separate files but point to the exact same place on the hard drive.
Both files will change if you go to the Inode level to make changes to the data — the spot that File 1 and 2 point to — They are separate files with different names and located in different places, even though they have different locations.

What’s New in Linux and Server 2019?

Windows Substation for Linux (WSL), although not a new technology, is still worth exploring in Windows Server 2019. Let’s take you through how to install WSL and the use cases. We will also discuss what this means for your existing skills and knowledge.
What is the Windows Subsystem for Linux?
The WSL is a compatibility layer between your Windows operating system (Windows) and a Linux kernel. It is an optional component that you can install on your Windows computer or server (Windows Server 2019). Once the layer is installed, you can run Linux commands from a Linux Command Line — just like if you were sitting in front a native Linux computer.
This allows administrators, developers, and testers to quickly test scripts, programs, and commands without having to swap computers or start a Linux virtual machine.
WSL is a great alternative to traditional methods.
WSL has the obvious advantage of being easier to install than virtualizing a Linux box. This is especially true when you want to run a program against another machine in your environment. WSL allows you to access your network from your server, just like you would normally. However, WSL works from the Linux side of things. This allows for a more enjoyable testing experience, as there is very little configuration required when running Bash scripts over the network with WSL, if it has been properly set up.
Learn how to become a security expert with SPOTO’s Cybersecurity Training
Apps are the second reason to start training There are many apps. Since the 90s, some Linux flavors have had an equivalent to an app store. This is accessible directly from the command line. This forward-thinking software delivery system is now part of modern Linux distributions and WSL.
Ubuntu WSL allows you to simply run a command that will update all file dependencies on your system, before installing the requested app from an online repository.
The majority of the work is automated, with the exception of occasional prompts to press the RETURN and ‘Y’ keys to accept the installation. It is transparent so you can see every step of the installation unfold right in front of your eyes in the command line. WSL works exactly in the same way. The vast array of apps and packages is at your disposal without any hassles.
Another reason to use WSL to impress your friends and colleagues is your new-found Linux knowledge. It can be quite surreal to launch a Bash session using a Windows Command Line at first.
Security is the final issue. Before Microsoft had a reliable update cycle, Linux systems were considered the best option for hosting critical services within organizations and companies. It is easy to update the entire operating system using the command line. All dependencies are taken care of automatically. WSL works the same. It is safe to use, provided that you keep your systems up-to-date.
What are you waiting for? Let’s get installing!
How to Install WSL With PowerShell
1. We need to start PowerShell with elevated permissions in order to get started. Type:
Enable-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online -FeatureName Microsoft-Windows-Subsystem-Linux
After this step, your Server will reboot. Take all the precautions necessary to save your work.
2. Next, choose the flavor of Linux you want. Each person will have their own preferences, but we will use Ubuntu as our example.
Invoke-WebRequest -Uri https://aka.ms/wsl-ubuntu-1604 -OutFile Ubuntu.appx -UseBasicParsing
This begins the process. It can take some time depending on your internet connection.
We downloaded the file to C:windowssystem32
Step 3. Step 3.
Step 4. Step 4.
